New – York: Aug. 9. 45

Dear Sir: It is nearly a month since I received a note from you, requesting an interview—but, by some inadvertence, I placed it (your note) among my file of “answered letters”. This will account to you for my seeming discourtesy in not sooner giving you an answer.

I have now to say that I shall be happy to see you at any time, at my residence 195 East Broadway. You will generally find me at home in the morning before 10.

Very respy.

Yr. Ob. St.

Edgar A Poe
